2. The Spanish Colonial Art” exhibit at the Frost Museum, Florida International University. Jan-March 2013
The Spain-Florida Foundation 500yrs is gearing up to promote a new and exciting traveling exhibition at several museums across Florida in 2013 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s arrival in Florida.

The art of Spain reached the Americas on board the ships of explorers, on the banners of the conquistadors, in illustrated bibles and in the form of small devotional images and portraits. Colonial art of the 16th through the 18th centuries represents a synthesis of imagery from Spain with that of the Americas, especially in areas with rich indigenous traditions and popular art forms, and embody the blending of native traditions with those of Europe.

3. The Tall Ship Parade, Ponce de Leon's journey from San Juan Puerto Rico to Miami ending in Jacksonville
The parade has been designed to celebrate the V Centennial Anniversary of Ponce De Leon's landing in Florida. We are also committed to encourage international friendship and participation of young people in the art of sailing.

The parade will start in San Juan de Puerto Rico, and the highest authorities of Spain and United States are scheduled to receive the parade at the Miami Seaport.

4. La Florida, Myth and Fantasy 1513-1565, The Quest for the Fountain of Youth, A Historical Narrative Documentary - March 2013.
Our production will bring to life Ponce de León, Menéndez de Avilés and Escalante de Fontaneda Turing and their most intense moments of their respective trips to La Florida, so we’ll be able to get closer to their personas, lives and adventures as Conquistadors.

The story develops in each place and location where they were almost 500 years ago, looping for the traces of their presences there. With the reenactment of actors and shooting in the exact same locations they once were, it will show a vibrant narration that will truly captivate the audience, while learning historical facts of past times.

The documentary will be based in St. Augustine. We will discover and experience a historical and cultural universe that will add to the touristic values of this ancient city.

This is a production that will be prepared with the latest film technology in the industry to assure the high quality of the final images.
This production is not just a historical narrative documentary but a historical accurate film-style production with reenactments of American Indians and Spanish settlements with actors and extras that will bring us back those first years when La Florida enters into history.
