Dr. Carol Damian was named Director and Chief Curator of The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University in October, 2008.

Damian received her PH.D in Latin American History from the University of Miami and specializes in the Art of Latin America and the Caribbean.

In 2011, Carol Damian was invited to participate in the jury of the annual contest, XVI century: the arrival of the Spanish to Florida.

Currently, Carol Damian is working alongside the Spain-Florida Foundation to present in 2013 an exhibition of Art & History titled, “Imagining La Florida”.
