Rafael Olloqui new member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors

The Spain-Florida Foundation would like to welcome Rafael Olloqui CEO of BTS Group to the Board of Directors. The official presentation was made at the last Board of Directors’ meeting in March.
During said meeting Mr. Olloqui expressed his full commitment towards the celebrations of the anniversary of Florida in 2013 and the establishment of St. Augustine in 2015.
Mr. Olloqui was also thrilled to hear about the Foundation’s Educational Agenda as a great vehicle to promote the culture and history of Spain in Florida not only to English speaking students, but also to Hispanics and Spanish speaking students who are also part of the history of Florida.
The growth of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, allows further promotion of our main objective as well as serves as a great basis of networking for the many important companies in Florida.
As its highest ranking officer Mr. Olloqui is responsible for all the global strategies of BTS Group.
Rafael Olloqui was born in Zaragoza, Spain. He moved to South Florida, where he received two BS from Saint Thomas University in Miami. In 1991, he returned to Madrid, where he obtained an MS in Finance at “La Fundacion Antonio de Nebija”
In 1993 Rafael and his brother Ricardo created the BTS Group, an international carrier interconnected to the Group’s global network. As the worldwide telecommunications sector ceased to be monopolized, BTS acquired licenses to operate in different countries, and became a long distance carrier. Presently, it is directly connected to 90 operators worldwide.
He has been First VP of the board of directors of the “Spain- USA Chamber of Commerce”, Advisor of “Centro Cultural Español de Cooperacion Iberoamericana”, and Trustee of “CAMACOL”.
